Curriculum Mapping: Constructing High Quality Maps

Purpose:

This work session was created for faculty and staff to build the skills necessary to independently construct high quality maps.

Objectives:

  • Identify criteria of high quality maps
  • Examine the core components of curriculum maps
  • Explain the difference between planning instruction and mapping the curriculum
  • Apply local style guide
  • Construct maps of high quality
Follow-up Activities

  • Finalize at least one month of a map
  • Find at least one website and one file (test, quiz, rubric, etc) to upload during the Curriculum Mapper® – The Essential Elements work session
  • The Mapping Council should monitor the progress of the mapping effort and determine specific needs (e.g., conceptual, practical)
